Kristin Fox-Trautman

Kristin Fox-Trautman has been a member of the Centro Steering Committee since 2013. She loves being actively engaged in celebrating and strengthening the diverse and vibrant Memphis community. With 17 years experience in the non-profit sector, she currently works as an independent consultant to non-profits. From 2007-2014, she served as the Vice President of Youth Development at BRIDGES.

Kathy Barnes-Lou

Kathy Barnes-Lou is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, Kathy Barnes-Lou is a founding member of the Centro Cultural Latino de Memphis, the first Latino cultural arts center established in Tennessee. In addition to volunteering for the Centro, Kathy works as an adjunct professor at Southwest Tennessee Community College and The University of Memphis where she received her MFA.

Yolanda Harper

Yolanda Harper is a singer, songwriter, instructor and community advocate. Her areas of expertise include literary and performing arts. Her published works include scholarly articles, song compositions and a CD titled, Aquí Se Habla En Amor. Since 2004, she has been active in the Memphis community working with educational institutions, businesses and community organizations.

Francisco Cervantes

Francisco Cervantes began working with FedEx since 1997 as a handler at the LAX hub. He currently holds the position of Sr. Instructional Development Specialist at TechOps Training under the Air Operations Division at FedEx. As a training developer, he takes the role of a lead for many airframe curriculums to develop training materials for maintenance and flight training needs.

Margarita Sandino

Margarita Sandino a native of Bogotá, Colombia has lived in Memphis since 2002. In 2013, Margarita joined the board of the Centro Cultural where she enjoys organizing art classes and special events. She has been the Director of Education at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens since 2007. Her cultural background and her love for art education have led her to commit her time and support to the Centro.

Richard Alexander Lou

Richard Alexander Lou was born in San Diego, CA. and raised in San Diego, CA and Tijuana, BCN, MX. Richard grew up in a biracial family which was spiritually and intellectually guided by an anti-colonialist Chinese father and a culturally affirming Mexicana mother. Educated at Southwestern College, Chula Vista, CA receiving an A.A. in Fine Art in 1981; California State University at Fullerton, CA receiving a B.A. in Fine Art in 1983; Clemson University, Clemson, SC receiving an M.F.A. in Fine Art in 1986.

Crosstown Arts: Richard Lou – Stories On My Back

Stories On My Back, a large-scale multi-media installation incorporating audio, video, digital photographs, and tamale leaves created by Memphis artist Richard Lou. The installation, never before seen in its entirety in Memphis, is an immersive experience alluding to a ceremonial site where people come to share their stories and personal histories.
